Did you see this? It's an Epic FB meltdown by two restaurant owners >>>

Wow!! They should revisit that place in a year and see if they're still in business.

How can two people be so blind?! The FB page MAY have been hacked and the postings were not real, but they sure sounded exactly like those two owners on the video. Sad.

Apparently, all their sites have been hacked. Apparently...

This is what they posted on their FB site today:

"Obviously our Facebook, YELP, Twitter and Website have been hacked. We are working with the local authorities as well as the FBI computer crimes unit to ensure this does not happen again. We did not post those horrible things. Thank You Amy &Samy"

I just love this reply to their post, which got 6,500 likes. It's hysterical:

"Travis Lindsay: In the criminal justice system, Resturant based hackings are considered especially heinous. In AZ, the dedicated detectives who investigate these vicious felonies are members of an elite squad known as the Special Baking Unit. These are their stories"..

"

Sometimes life *is* better than fiction...

What I don't understand, is when people who have no interest in either cooking or

customer service, still open restaurants. And I think those two fit right in there. It would be the same if I opened a car service shop. I have no interest in cars, and I have no understanding of engines whatsoever. As in zero.

Then again, there are tons of things I don't understand in this world. The fact that egg whites turn into foam when whipped still baffles me smileys/wink.gif

I think most people that start a restaurant

do so because they enjoy dining out. They have this sort of leap of logic where they go into it picturing themselves in this fantasy role that is the equivalent to a customer with benefits. Reality sets in and thus the core reason why so many restaurants fail.
In this case stealing tips from wait staff, screaming at customers and taking delight in sticking it to customers by making something too spicy is just insane. Even the Soup Nazi didn't compromise the quality of the food!

Another common mistake is assuming that because everyone gushes over your...

...cooking and insists you should "open a restaurant" you are somehow qualified to wear the multitude of hats needed to be successful in that business.

Bourdain's "Kitchen Confidential" and Michael E. Gerber's "The E Myth Revisited" should be REQUIRED READING for ANYONE wanting to open a restaurant/bakery/cafe/coffee shop, etc.

In Gerber's book, he uses the example throughout of a gal who made excellent pies. She made the best pies anyone had ever tasted. All her friends told her she should open a pie bakery, so she did. Gerber shows why most small businesses fail in spite of having a good product, and how to correct the issues so success can be achieved.

From what I saw, Mr. Ineffectual bought his trophy wife a restaurant because she thought

she could cook and wanted everyone to fall at her feet in moaning delight. He looked beaten and probably gave up long ago. I got the feeling HE was the one who wanted Ramsey there because he's too whipped to tell her these things himself.

Delusional with a capitol D...that woman needs help. Quick call the SBU!

Or better yet put her on Undercover Boss to find out what it's like to be a worker bee and get customer feedback.

Chappy's here in Nashville was stupid enough to go on it and then reacted similarly

They called one of the top restauranteurs and asked him if he knew anyone and he said something like "Bless you heart but I don't know anyone I hate enough for that." Anyone going on that show KNOWS they are going to be torn apart. The crowds are temporary most likely and not sustainable. I have never seen one of these places that made me go "Wow, I want to go there."
