Do any of you know Duroc bone-in pork chops?

If you can find them, even though they are very expensive ($8/each- a total of 3.3 lbs for 4 chops for the ones I got) try them. they taste like "real" pork chops! I may never be able to go back to the bargain Costco chops. These Duroc chops are a real throwback to when pork tasted better. A friend brings them to me frozen when he goes to CA (these came from the Irvine Ranch Market in Costa Mesa). A wash of low sodium soy sauce and a sprinkle of granulated garlic and pepper is all they get before going on the grill. Absolutely the best chops I've ever had. I've gotten them several times for the last year.

Here is what the ones I get look like- they are long bone chops

not traditionally-cut chops.

I love how you can appreciate a good pork chop. I have found that they have really lost their taste

recently. I can get the texture, but un enamored with the taste. Hide it with marinade or condiments. Thanks for the tip on Duroc.

I checked at the two large supermarket chains I shopped at...

on Monday and neither one had them. I will have to check with my German butcher to see if they carry it. They do local organic pasture animals from local farms, so if it isn't being raised in this region, they won't have it either.

Update: I found a local source
