You could then store your spiced milk, and add it to fresh brewed tea, whenever you wanted. The recipe may have called for cream or half-and-half, I can't remember.
Most recipes call for steeping the milk and the tea with all the spices, but then you'd have to make it fresh each time. I liked having the spice mixture at the ready, so that all I had to do was brew the tea. I lost my recipe, and would love to know how you make yours!
I never had a commercial chai, since it conatins milk. The homemade version was perfect - I made it with a non-dairy creamer, and I loved the blend of spices with the tea.
Would also love to see any other chai-flavored recipes.....
