Does anyone eat/harvest wild fennel? I've just been out for a walk and was chomping on it as I

Googled to see if it grows in Oklahoma

Couldn't find out for sure but the pictures look familiar. I'll be on the lookout. Today I enjoyed a few wild blackberries and sand plums. I have lots of sand plums but no interest in making jelly.

How about freezer jam....fast and very good. I do not know what sand plums are, however

they might make good freezer jam.

If I ever drive to Dallas when they are in season I'll bring some.

Of course, I don't usually go when it is hot. You could be here in 4-5 hours!

BTW, I finally made the cheese. I need more practice!

We rarely eat jam but a friend is coming to pick some in a few days.

Never heard of sand plums. Hmmm. Wild blackberries are so plentiful here this year, that

the masses of them on the branches actually look repulsive to me. Getting lots of rain at just the right time, sure is helpful.

oh, be still my heart. I'd have to go pick them. SO delicious and

tart, as opposed to the cultivated--that I'll still rely on because I have to.

Happy to, email your address; anyone else? more

On my property they are quite literally growing on a mound of sand left over from when my riding arena was built.

My former MIL did, she and the Italian ladies in SF and Marin would yell, Stop STOP

when we were in the car, Pull over, I see finochio! So funny. I do love that pasta dish they make with it for the feast of the fishes. To me, the scent of wild fennel is my childhood, playing in the board yard and marina while waiting for my parents, it grows all over the Bay Area.
