Does anyone else get 'sad' as the end of fruit season approaches? I"m getting anxious already.

Nope because soon we will get all kinds of apples, lemons, and I think persimmons, Satsuma mandarins

and all the rest of the fall and winter fruits.

Finally! All these years of mediocre fruit and vegetables, I don't have to be sad at the end...

...of the season. I start out sad (& jealous) and continue that way for the ENTIRE SEASON.

I love the peaches too, I especially wait for the Oh Henry's. Our peach season has lasted a long

time this year because the grower's are planting early and late varieties. I love when the apples come, so many to choose from. Apples are not my favorite fruit but I make applesauce for the freezer every year, and I do force myself to eat small ones. I love them in salads however.

Yes, yes, yes!

We love our Michigan produce, especially the tomatoes and peaches. I'm glad I bought extra fresh mozzarella and goat cheese to go with. Yummy! Colleen

I am especially sad because aside from doing upick blueberries and cherries one weekend, I haven't

done anything with the summer fruits this year. smileys/frown.gif

We had a Satsuma Mandarin (tangerine) and it was our favorite tree.

We had a Washington navel, Key lime, grapefruit, Eureka lemon, Granny Smith apple, a grape arbor with all different kinds of grapes growing on it.
In the front yard, I had jasmine growing along the fence because the wind came from that direction. Night blooming jasmine growing along the fence by the bedroom window.
The people that bought the house flipped it. They got rid of the above mentioned plants and structures. I cried when I saw it and I still get a little sick when I think about it.

That is wrong, Maria. I had one piece, and I have been craving it ever since. Too late now smileys/frown.gif
