Does anyone have a Siligoumet Ring? Silicone protector ring for edges of pie crust?

I am so knocked out (good way) by the silicone products out now

I don't have the ring but will probably get it, Marg. I LOVE the silicone baking "pans" I have and cannot say enough good things about them! If you get the ring you will find it will not stick to anything- not even if you make a blueberry pie and the filling slops over. It will clean right off.

I still worry about it leaching something into the food.

Look at all the plastic warnings concerning microwave usage now... everything was ok at first. Have you noticed any difference in taste? I sure would love the easy clean feature though!!

I mentioned in a post above to KY that my silly minipan doesn't crisp

up my quick breads (for example, banana). Making the same recipe in a metal bread pan, or even an aluminum throwaway, the bread develops a crunchy crisp to it....my absolute favorite part.

The two times I used my mini-silicone, the breads had a rubbery texture.

I use the silicone brushes and love them. They get so clean in the DWer & I keep several for

specific uses.

I do get a little concerned if they're made in China. I had been worried about quality long before the pet food disaster, in fact.

And I LOVE mine, thanx Marg......

I have one just for oiling the split pita breads I make for "chip 'n dip". The other is for general baking. Didn't know I would like them as much as I do.
