Does anyone have Chefmate Copper Bottom Cookware? I have 2- just read the reviews re: how dangerous

I don't think I'd use them again, those were some pretty scary posts. I'm really surprised they

weren't recalled. just the thought of one them exploding when you're frying is horrible. you could end up with serious eye damage not to mention scars.... ooooch darlin, dump them!

Yeah, you're absolutely right. They're going to go the way of my Pyrex - in the garbage. I threw out

all my Pyrex a year or two ago when I read about all the explosions going on, and not just from drastic changes in temperature, some of them just happened without any reason!
By the way, how are ya doin???

of course I'm right, I'm a woman! "-))) ok, seriously, I'm glad you ditched them

they're way toooo risky to cook in.

I'm doing good, just got busy. of course, now that we have gale force winds again, we're all honkering down and I can take a breather.

I was thinking of you as I'm making La Bete Noire for a dinner party saturday. it's a flourless choc cake and translates to english as..... are you ready?.....
The Black Beast! we're all looking forward to it smileys/smile.gif

hope all is well with you. hugs

I've heard about that cake-it's supposed to be so good, its dangerous.Make sure you save me a slice!

hmm, i've got some ka copper bottom pots. hope they're better quality (certainly were way more $$)..

and speaking of pyrex, i once had one explode in the oven when i was basting something - thankfully it was all contained in the oven (what a mess) and no one was hurt. pretty sure i hadn't committed any of the pyrex cardinal sins, just bad luck i guess.

Oh, I'm sure you don't have to worry about the KA's. It's only the Chefmates that are defective...

Sorry to hear about your Pyrex incident - glad no one was hurt!

i guess your consolation (since you're not likely to get anything from the manufacturer) is that you

won't have a tuna steak and hot oil launching off of your stove if you throw them out smileys/wink.gif
maybe you could use them for low temp usage?

I was wondering about that - do you think the problem is only with high heat? Most of the reviewers

failed to mention what type of heat they typically used with these pans.
I was also considering returning them to Target (even though they're more than 90 days old - but I don't have to tell them that) - the line is sold exclusively over there.

i'd try returning them first. if no luck then what if you don't use 'em on high heat and don't

submerge them when you wash them out. who knows!?
