Does anyone have Cook's Illustrated's The Complete Book of Pasta and Noodles? If so, how do you like

Did something about the recipes or format turn you off or did you just never got around to using

it, because you probably have 2 million other cookbooks?

That's it exactly, never got around to using it ...

toooo many cookbooks, decided it was one I never gravitated to so it needed to go with the recent cookbook weedings. It might be a really great book, it just never spoke to me.

It also has no photos and some monotonous print so I found it boring to look through...lol. I tend to gravitate to books with photos these days. Again, it may be a fine book. Have you viewed it?

I have pretty much every one of their books including this one & swear by them....

When DH made me narrow down the books kept in the kitchen, they stayed. They sometimes take a few extra steps but the results are almost always predictable for that reason. And their articles tell you enough about what thy tried to get to the results that it makes it easy to alter the recipe to suit your tastes once you make it once if you want a little different result.

Yeah, I go for good photos and a nice print also, so I was wondering if this bland format would

turn me off. I looked at the index on Amazon, and although there were a lot of great-sounding recipes, I wouldn't be able to use many of them, since I basically don't eat meat, except for a filet mignon occasionally, plus I don't eat seafood, and I eat chicken only about once a month. But that's always been a problem with me and most cookbooks, so it's nothing new. (which is why I get most of my recipes online, so I can pick and choose which ones appeal to me (most of which come from cookbooks anyway), without wasting tons of money on various cookbooks that have very few recipes that I would use). If I get this book, I would be mainly interested in the vegetarian pasta recipes, and I believe there are quite a few in there, but I could be wrong. I really have nothing to lose if I order it and change my mind, though, since Amazon has such an excellent return policy, so maybe I'll just go for it (plus it's on sale)!
