is what everyone uses up there, I think the scale will be too big. Kitchen is open to the rest of the living room and isn't even square: long side = 12', middle side = 9', short side = 6'. I'm trying to leave the 6' side as my pastry area.

I went with 9' ceilings.

We have them in Prague. Solid, decent--much, much better quality than their furniture.

(And I should know, as we have two apartments' worth of crappy Ikea furniture.)

Of note: the hinges on their kitchen cabinets are made by Ferrari. smileys/wink.gif

My sister purchased her cabinets from Habitat. I know you mentioned you go there. She got an

unbelievable deal from Habitat from Humanity. It was originally from Lowes or home depot. I think they "donate" and get the tax $$ from donating their floor displays and extras....

Can't comment on IKEA, just throwing another option for you to consider / research.

My daughter just put in an Ikea kitchen. She likes it but is not thinking it will last forever or

near that.
