I'm currently coveting them (and wondering why the price for the used books on Abe is nearly as much or more than buying them new? What's that about?) and they're currently sitting in my basket at Amazon. Most people are gushing over them in the reviews, but there are a few negative reviews that have given me pause.

Any reviews on them from here would be appreciated.

I have the Sweets one and I like it...

I would recommend it to someone like yourself who is an accomplished baker. The recipes assume you already know how to bake. It is a very pretty book, albeit small (only about 7 inches square?) and has a suede like padded cover and gilded pages. It even comes in its own slipcase and tissue paper.

While I have not actually made anything from it yet, there are several things I plan to try. I like the book enough that I will probably end up buying the other two eventually.

Hope this helps. Let me know if you have any other questions.
