Does anyone have recommendations for a new juicer? Our lemon tree gave us

450 lemons this year and my rather new juicer started giving up the ghost last year. It quit on us after juicing about 2 dozen lemons this morning. Are there juicers better suited for those of us who do lots of juicing each year?

Thanks for any experience you can offer me. Want to get it right this time!

personally I prefer the manual lever/press style juicers for citrus

and you don't have to worry about motors. Mine is an OrangeX which has a really good lever action that doesn't require excessive force and does a very thorough job. Also easy to clean. But there are a lot of options. I saw one at Costco recently but I don't remember the brand.

looks very similar to my OrangeX

Although I'm not familiar with it the reviews online sound good and it is made in Germany. To me that is a bonus that it is not made in China and most of the things I've purchased made in Germany are high quality.

Yours is made in China according to what it said, the other is made in Taiwin,

Where did you see the made in Germany>

sorry I thought I read Made In Germany

But I'd still prefer Made in Taiwan over Made in China even if China thinks Taiwan is part of China smileys/wink.gif

I got mine a long time ago. Not sure where it was manufactured then I'll have to look at it.

I love our lemon tree. Dwarf sat in a pot for many years. One day.....

planted it into the ground, it grew and grew, we fed according to nursery instructions. Lemons started coming. OMG. Two years ago, we got 1200! Too many! I love the juice, zest, all freezes well. Our lemons have little or no seeds. It is a Eureka or Lisbon, very healthy. We have two construction lights on it right now and temps dipping into low 30's. Still a few more lemons, too green (2 weeks ago,) to pick. Need to check them out. We also have a baby orange, 5 years old, which gave us about, 30 oranges this year, and the new kid on the block is a Bearrs lime....in a pot, 20 limes off of that kid.

Tramontina $39.99 at Costco

went tonight. not sure it it as good quality but same style and a lot less expensive. made in China so YMMV

Probably was made in Germany at one time. We like German products too.. , hard to find

products made in what I consider a decent environment, with well paid workers who do good work and use good materials.

Wow that is a huge harvest! You can individually wrap lemons in paper towels,

then put them in a plastic bag and they will keep a month or more in the fridge!

Can't wait to hear what you make from them.

I make lots of dishes which use fresh lemon, most soups, meats and lots of vinaigrettes

We juice most of them, give away for Christmas to family and neighbors, hair colorist, nail person.
Our lemon cubes, and zest usually last for two years with the addition of the next years crop. I use on lemon cube in my tomato juice concoction every morning, plus a lime wedge. We never get colds, or flu. Not sure why, but I hope the citrus has something to do with it. I have one vinaigrette recipe which uses one whole lemon plus juice from another. I make that a lot. It is from Cafe Sucre Farine

THnks for the paper towel tip. OUr friend brings us tons of lemons and I love having the whole

fresh ones around I do juice and freeze a lot of the juice, but the whole fruits are so beautiful.
