Does anyone have the Mario Batali Dutch oven? Any thoughts between (more)

this one and a Le Creuset? My husband got me a Batali 6qt for Christmas, but when we opened the box, the pot was warped and the lid did not fit on it tight. We took it back to the store, but they did not have any more in stock. They will re-order, but they did have L.C. in stock (but more money, of course). Trying to determine which might be a better buy? Any thoughts?

For price and quality, I don't think you can beat the Staub made for QVC....

it doesn't have the spikes (like the Mario Batali) on the lid like the expensive Staub models. It has an integral cast knob which I much prefer to the phenolic ones. The lid fits tightly. It's available in several sizes and shapes though I have bought two of the 5 (or 5 1/2) quart models and will be ordering one in the next day or so for a wedding gift. It comes in a variety of colors that are all very similar to the traditional LC colors. And the prices is less than $60. OH - the one thing I notice about some of the other less expensive brands in places like Target and Kohl's is that they are thinner than the LC and Staub. In case you have done it, trust me, they will break when dropped so I like having a little thicker wall. I also have traditional Lodge and Griswald cast iron Dutch ovens and love them once seasoned. I was at the Lodge plant and looked at their enameled cast iron and the price is up there with LC and Staub yet they were more trendy and modern in looks and colors and were about as thick and heavy as the LC & Staub.
