Does anyone here belong to a group that has published their collective recipes?

Like church or PTA cookbooks - that kind of thing. Am wondering who you might have used to publish it and if you have any advice or hints for me?

I see many publishing companies online, but would like to go with a "tried & true". TIA

I have, but I printed it myself, then had it put together by Kinko's. Not difficult, but if you want

it to look professional, with a hard, multi-colored cover, this is not it. I remember seeing something about publishing cookbooks from the back of one of my cookbooks, but of course that's not tried and true. Sorry. Richard in Cincy might be able to recommend a professional publisher. Right, Richard, you're an editor?

Cheezz, you might check out CreateSpace (owned and operated by Amazon) and Lulu.com.

These are two of the largest "author services" self-publishers. I'm not sure if this is quite what you're looking for, though. The line between small bucks and big bucks in the business is whether you have someone in the group who can typeset it; if so, then you're absolutely fine going it practically on your own (as long as you don't want it physically in bookstores and are ok with just having it online-only). If you need it typeset, then I'd recommend either of these two, or FastPencil.com, though I'm don't think any of these will do four-color photos, etc. Hope that's of some help. smileys/smile.gif

I used Morris cookbooks, both for myself and for the PTO.

They did a very nice job and were easy to work with. I really depends on the quantity that you would like to print and the options you want to use; hard back, soft cover, complete recipes on one page, notes, etc. They have a lot of options that can raise the price to print it.

Richard in Cincy, do you have any suggestions? You helped me with my format

a couple of years ago. 'Might save a little work (and money) for you, cheezz, if you have it in perfect format before you send it to the publisher. I realized my question to you, Richard, was inside of my post, above, and that you may have missed it.

Tastebook. I was very impressed

but only made several copies for family. I don't know how they will price for so many cookbooks. There are frequent deals on shipping and multiple copies.

The software was easy to use. Quality and usability are excellent. I put several recipes on each page and used pictures of our family having fun. The books are well used!

You could have a yearly book and sell additional page packets by year to update the original. Colleen

Actually, you can... just click on the post, and then when it tells you that you can't go into

it, go to the address line and remove the % and hit "return". The post will then be readable. I don't mean to remove the % in the title of the post, just in the address line.

Thanks for the help everyone! Looking for about 300 or so cookbooks for church....

sounds like Morris or Cookbook Publishers would probably be the way to go.
Thanks again!
