Or any favorite recipes that might work with one? I got one for Christmas...and I just remembered it! Hubby put it away safely for me already. Anyway...I'm pulling it out to use with center cut pork chops tonight...wish me luck!

Yes, I have..used it for years. Loved it.......I also used it...

a lot when we went to the beach and dug a hole in the sand. Then put in a gas burner...I have a small cadac one....and then rested the smoker over the hole.
I used the smoker first at our holiday house on the Southern most tip of the African Continent. Then I started using it in my kitchen at home and I soon realised the whole house started reeking like a smoke-house.
When we went cruising on the yacht I used it fairly often but again did not want the boat to smell so strongly of smoke so took to doing my smoking at the beaches we went to...or on the BBQ on the aft deck.
We have smoked all kinds of meats...chicken was our fav. How-ever the really best was when we got fresh oysters off the rocks and smoked those in the half shell. Just sublime.

I've been curious about those. I think jamie Oliver used one on an episode. let us know

how it worked.

Don't have one but - Rec: Smoked Goat Cheese Salad

I took a cooking class here and she used the stove top smoker to make this. It was wonderful!!!

Smoked Goat Cheese Salad
Chef Judith Fertig

Serves 8
1/2 c olive oil
8 oz fresh goat cheese or cow's milk cream cheese
8 cups salad greens

Vinagrette
1 T Dijon mustard
1 garlic clove, minced
1/4 c white wine vinegar
1/2 cup olive oil

1. Prepare stovetop smoker with hickory, cherry or oak
2. Spread cheese evenly into small 8x8 disposable aluminum pan. Drizzle top with olive oil to cover. Smoke for 10 min or until cheese has bronzed and has a good smoke flavor.
3. For the vinagrette, whisk all ingredients together (use same day)
4. To assemble, place cup of greens on plate, drizzle with vinagrette and top with crumbled smoked goat cheese.
