does anyone know how to get candle wax off butcher block?

I put out 3 candles last night and one of them burned a hole in it's side and poured hot wax on my new rock maple butcher block island :-0

I'm not sure how to get the wax out that melted into the wood.

Thick layer of paper towels and iron, keep turning towels?? Can't hurt?

ah ha! very, very hot, soapy water and the scrub side of my kitchen sponge seemed to do

the trick. smileys/smile.gif

another note to self: try a few things before running for help....

and then a dab of bleach on a sponge, blotting the board, should take out any color residue.
