knight themed cake without paying $60 for the pan. I thought someone here might know of a way to turn sheet cakes into a castle cake. She will use cake mix and can barely handle that, lol, but she's pretty good in the decorating department. I'm no good at this sort of thing, any ideas? Or a site to go to? Any help appreciated. Edited to say it doesn't have to be tall, can be a flat version.

I grew up with these. Start with a 13x9" cake....

cut a square, then cut the remaining piece into four long rectangles. These are added to outside edges to build up the height. On the corners you put pointy sugar ice cream cones and add little toothpick flags banners with the Birthday person's name.

The BEST part is the door and drawbridge are made from large Hershey's bars. Also the windows are narrow pieces of the bar.

Oh, and Kraft chocolate caramel squares go around the top perimeter to turn it into a parapet.

Chocolate icings hides a multitude of sins.

Thank you, thank you. I'm passing along your ideas. Hey, even I could make one with these ideas. I

love the idea of the chocolate caramels for the parapet. I hope she follows through and makes one.

I posted a picture of one we did in pink for my young grandie....

the sprogs are always involved so their cakes are often a bit askew, and the heat here is something to contend with, still the general idea is in the picture. Where that pic ture is I don't rightly know, maybe in the FK picture collection.

I remember those pictures, Joanie, and I couldn't find them either. It was

between April and May of last year that you changed your screenname from "Joanie" to "Joanietoo" (found via search) so maybe that might help you find them?

Looking at Photo Bucket one more time here.
