Does anyone know what "agua de sandilla" is?

Thank you, Sylvia and Curious! I think you're on track as she wrote it was something

she would be "making."

I googled, too, but saw too much Spanish for my poor brain!

It's watermelon water..

In Mexico we make "aguas" (waters) you can have agua de naranja (orangeade) agua de limon (lemonade) etc... agua de sandia is just watermelon-ade, watermelon juice with a bit of waterand sugar added, it's delicious...

and my nickname is Sandia...

When I was doing Farmer's Markets, the booth next to me sold these.

They sold a strawberry lemonade, a lime lemonade, and my favorite was a cucumber drink. It was so refreshing on hot days. They also sold cut up mango, papaya, cucumber "parfaits". They would fill a clear plastic cup with the slabs of your fruit of choice or cucumber, sometimes jicama, squeeze lime juice over it, and then sprinkle it with a spicy chile salt mixture, if you desired. One of my favorites was their corn on the cob on a stick. They brushed it with mayo and rolled it in a grated cheese mixture, sort of like grated parmesan. Needless to say, I did a lot of trades with them. Great to see you here. I just made a batch of your chile verde, love it!
