I changed my appetizer for bookclub on Friday since the hostess is serving a rather heavy meal---pulled pork and slaw and mac and cheese, so I thought this lighter melon offering would be a better choice. have everything on hand but haven't served it before. I was just going to slice and wrap.

I used to wrap cubes of melon in strips of prosciutto and skewer with toothpicks,

I would still do that for a fancy cocktail appetizer, but mostly I just cut the melon into skinless chunks, pull the slices of prosciutto apart into a few pieces each and strew them over. I put toothpicks or forks on the side.

Absolutely no sauce, just be sure you have an excellent melon. It's worth buying a few and going with the best one.

I do it this way too, Angie- pretty to look at besides being delicious. Classic appetizer.
