Does anyone subscribe to Fine Cooking Magazine? I love it, and think it is one of the best

cooking magazines out there. However, just this week I have gone on line to read reviews for recipes I want to make for Thanksgiving. None have had any reviews, and I find this curious. Has anyone made recipes from this magazine? Yes, I have made several and they are always successful, just find it curious that there are not more reviews.

Hi Karen, I subscribed from the beginning, however did not renew two years ago...I tried yesterday

to go online to access recipes and was denied....you must now subscribe to the website.....

I have many many FC issues but stopped subscribing regularly about 8 years ago

when there was a big shakeup there. They worked that out but I now only subscribe when it is on sale at Discount magazines or such--usually for $5.
Their recipes are pretty reliable--what has caught your eye.
They used to have a very very robust online group but it left with that other shakeup. You could always count on folks telling what was really good.

I do, I have every issue and have made so many of the recipes. It

Especially like recipes by contributor Tony Rosenfeld.

I think they are trying to go the way of ATK magazines and charge more for the combination magazine and website. They had a pop-up survey a while back asking if $40 a year would fly.

I just looked for shortbread. There were 4 reviews. Not very many for something that

straightforward. But then I got told that I could look only 3 more times before being blocked.

I used to enjoy this mag as well but don't afford myself any luxuries anymore.

I am finding Epicurious a bit annoying cuz when I ask for something specific, I get a whack of unrelated articles.

I want to try a pork rib roast, about 8 ribs with a citrus glaze, which used

orange marmalade and a recipe for Luxurious Potato Gratin. I have never cooked on of the pork rib roasts with frenched bones, so was intrigued by this recipe. I have the roast ordered and am picking it up Tuesday.

The Internet is getting very messy, so many ads popping up, some even blocking my view of text.

In that case, I refuse to buy from that company and am very tired of all the in my face ads, even on my cell phone. I use Google as my search engine and like it a lot. But have noticed that when I am looking for a specific item and use the specific words, other unrelated junk comes in, as well.

With FC magazine I used to order their annual volume every fall. It contained all of that year's

magazines, in their entirety, bound into one nice book w/ a dark blue cover. I really liked having everything together so I could keep each year's issues in one place. Also, there was a main index for multiple years which was handy if I couldn't recall which issue a particular recipe was in.

About 5 years ago, the company QUIT publishing its annual volume, and I never did sign up for a yearly subscription, but only pick up the occasional issue if I happen to spot one on a magazine rack whose front cover catches my attention. Needless to say, I have VERY few single copies!

COOK'S ILLUSTRATED still publishes its annual volume with a year's worth of their magazines contained inside a green covered book. I have been buying those for eons and am currently awaiting delivery of my 2019 volume.

They published a DVD on an anniversary with all the recipes to that date also.

I was a part of that online community--and it really was close. They had little "fests" in cities and one time at the Connecticut publishing place. Those volumes were very nice and it makes very little difference, but they weren't just that year's recipes--there were omissions and additions Southern Living DOES do that--the year's recipes.
