a little Mopey,

a tad Sad,

slightly Dopey

& Sleepy.

All I need is a pickaxe and a princess and I’ve got myself a fairy tale.

Starchy carbs, when eaten on an empty stomach, cause a release of serotonin...

...in the brain. It causes relaxation and sleepiness. This happens in healthy people. Diabetics have to be very careful.

Are you pre-diabetic? Sounds like you might be.

hee...I actually had to look this one up. No, I'm Post "Raised to the Nth Degree"-meno..

so I can't claim that defense at my murder trial.

hmmm, this sound like it fits but I just had blood-work done last week. Wouldn't it have

shown up there? Hold on....number on Quest Diagnostic report says 91 for Glucose (range = 65-99)

Results showed my iron is low and cholesterol is slowly creeping back up (tangible reason: no exercise, plus the residue from the original prescription wearing off.)

Thanks for the diabetes idea, though..I'll check into this further when I see my doctor in a few weeks.

Kindof hoping it was black and white like: "French fries."

When I had my personal training business, we would counsel people...

... who had trouble falling asleep at night. We had them finish eating by 6 pm, and then, when their dinner was digested and their stomachs empty, they could have 2 slices of regular white bread. Nothing on it, just plain.

They would fall asleep within 20 minutes. (Probably from the boredom of eating plain white bread.)

For some time I was eating one serving each of two high fiber cereals. . .

with a cup of milk on that. I would just about fall asleep, even though I always took a cup of some sort of caffeine with it.

Giant load of carbs PLUS milk, which has always put me to sleep equalled nappy-nap time for me.

I now eat a pair of corn tortillas, 3 eggwhites, about a cup of mixed cooked green things (usually arugula/spinach/kale, whole green onions, jalapeno pepper) and an ounce of goat cheese. This does not put me to sleep and I will not get hungry till almost mid afternoon usually.

If you are taking an acid reducer, like Zantac, stop. When you use zantac you can interfere with the uptake of b vitamins and coenzymeQ10, which can make you tired in deed. Before I weaned myself off of this stuff, I felt like I was half sleep walking. I feel much better now.
