Does this officially make me a food snob? Check this link to a recipe called Pastel Moctezuma.

The recipe looks horrible, I give you that, but what do you have against the "c"?!?

 
The "c" is correct, right? My beef comes when an Americanized recipe...

...that is so obviously not authentic by any definition, uses such an exotic sounding name. It seems a cheap attempt to entice and enthrall prospective cooks seeking something a bit more exciting than ground beef, salt and pepper.

Should be "Montyzoomas Lasagna", don'tcha think?

Okay Michael, that's just icky. I will post my mom's Pastel Montezuma tomorrow...

it's really yummy and has shredded chicken and is a great way to use up leftover turkey too!!!

 
Yes, the "c" is the correct spelling! I think they're going for Budin Azteca...

but failing miserably!
