Doesn't it seem that it would be FAIRER somehow

if people blessed with a gift for baking or cooking would have also been born with an innate love for vigorous exercise and an ultra high basal metabolism rate?

Ha! I can always send you my free subscription to Fitness Magazine, and

you can pretend to read it (like I would)!

I will be glad to transfer my free membership to the University gym!!!

Better than the gym, in my humble opinion...

.... is exerciing at home. I was a member of the YMCA for 15 years, went religiously at 6am, but now I would not think about joining again. Exercise videos that you can do at home, building little by little a space with evrything you need, is the best way. I exercise whenever I have time.

If you don't even want to get ANY gadget, I recommend a book called "You are your own gym" - there's a version for women. After evaluating your level, you build your own routines using exclusively the weight of your body and chairs, tables, doors. Interesting concept, and the workouts are all around 30 minutes long.

I try to exercise everyday, not because I love it, but because I love to cook and eat....

Mom was significantly over weight, type 2, and loved to eat. She passed at 58 because of it. This is what motivates me to keep exercising. I don't go to a gym to work out on all the equipment, I don't even know how to use it. I do take classes at the local rec center (swim, spin, weights and bootcamp), I have a number of DVD workouts that I do at home that require little (hand weights) or no equipment (I even took them with me on work travel and do them in my hotel room). In the good weather I run (take this with a shaker of salt, as my best, on a very, very good day I can do 10.5 minute miles, LOL!!!) I don't like to do the same thing everyday as it gets extremely boring.

There are so many DVDs out there. I am sure everyone can find a couple that works for them. Equipment not necessary.

I find that the 6AM slot works best because I don't tend to procrastinate as much. I only have to take one shower a day and it is all done before I even start my day. This way I don't think about it all day, devise ways to avoid it, and run out of hours.

Agree completely...

.... I think the fact that one of my sisters is severely overweight and has all kinds of problems associated with it, made me be aware of the importance of fitness from very early in my life

For me, exercise is non-negotiable. I take it seriously , as seriously as eating well.

I had to smile at your 10.5 min mile - that's more or less where I am at. I remember my days of pushing to keep an 8 minute mile pace, but now it is simply impossible. But as they say, a 12 minute mile is STILL a mile, my friend!

I'm with Deb... My heart is in the right place; but I procrastinate and find other fun things to

do. I do, however walk w/ Teddy Bear every day, in good weather. (Serious walking) : )

(does that count!!!)

I agree. We have a Y membership because Larry uses the machines for his back, but

I do much prefer working on my own Nordic Track while watching DVDs.
