I posted asking for suggestions for an open house, then catastrophe struck and I didn't respond in a timely manner to those who posted. I'm having it on the 30th and your ideas were great. Thanks.

Me too. I just watched a program on HTVG about these homes, like the idea very much for the hurri-..

can belt we live in.

joanie, check out Deltec homes...that's what we're going to build in NC.

They are very stable in hurricane situations as well.

Near the Smoky Mountains. Nearest towns are Waynesville or Maggie Valley.

I'm trying to retire in the next year or so...this daily commute is killing me.

Mar, this look very, very nice. Fun but not the 'domes' I saw on the TV program. We have...

lived in what we call "rondavels" in Africa. When a youngster my aunt and uncle had a farm where all the guest rooms were individual rondavels. These were single story and made of mud with the thatched roof (no ceilings)peculiar to the area. Very cool and the smell of the thatch is just wonderful.
I ahve always wanted my own rondavel but they are quite difficult to furnish.
These depicted on deltechomes are just amazing. Double storied and large windows to take in the views...OH. You are lucky to be building one of these. Please send pictures as you progress with these.
