Not to mention that I smashed a finger pulling out my baking sheets, so bad it broke open and ick. I hate blood. I'm medicating myself with rosé now, and the dough has been put to bed.

As a teaser, this is a Crispy Chocolate Chip Bacon Cookie!!! Pig candy in a cookie!!! Wooooo!

 
I'm with you Heather! I read all the ingredients and think it sounds

delicious, get the stuff out and THEN read the rest of the instructions which tell me to chill. I have started to highlight that instruction when I come across it so that I see it right away the next time....

I also hate it when a recipe tells you to pre-heat the oven and then CHILL the dough, arg.....

 
If you're in a hurry, this is what you can do to speed up the cooling:

Spread the dough about an inch thick on a rimmed baking sheet and put it in the freezer. Check it every 10 minutes or so, until it firms up.
