unexpected (at least for me, gees, it was 50 out there not so long ago!) cold snap and froze SOLID at 4 degrees F - can they be saved for an apple pie? Let them partially thaw, cut them, put them in a crust?

I know people freeze sliced apples all the time - do you think this would work? I don't care if they get mushy, they'd be mushy in the pie anyway.

 
I think it would be fine for anything cooked/baked. be careful your knife doesn't slip

if they are still frozen in the middle. they might be a bit more watery, so adjust for more thickening maybe.
