sometimes partly yellow? I was wanting to make the David Lebovitz sour cherry ice cream, and am having trouble finding them. I saw some in the store that were much lighter in color than normal cherries, but partly yellow. They aren't labeled as such. Any ideas?? Thanks.

It sounds like the ones you're referring to are White Cherries, which are considered sweet cherries

Thanks so much, Meryl--when I googled sour cherry photo, the looked

a little lighter than normal sweet cherries. I will try to find them. You are right, the ones I saw were white cherries. smileys/smile.gif

I may just do that--thanks for the suggestions. I will post results as

I know a few people have the Perfect Scoop book. smileys/smile.gif

I have a sour cherry tree, and they taste like cherries only not sweet...

In a string above, mistral found them at a Mediterranean market. They are definitely not sweet and you will need to decrease the sugar if you use sweet ones.

LOL, when I got home from work, my DH had found some at a local farm smileys/smile.gif Lucky
