Dumb question regarding making popcorn to go...

I only make popcorn on the stove in a heavy pot. My daughter LOVES popcorn, so I'd like to start making it as a take along snack. Does anyone do this? Should I invest in an air popper so the popcorn stays crisp? What about seasoning? I usually do a little butter & salt, but the butter might be a problem. Any tips would be appreciated!

Hi Andrea - if I was making it "ahead", I think I'd leave out the salt...

(might absorb the moisture in the air, esp. in the summer) and use Molly McButter or something like that. Er, unless that's full of sodium. But they must make some sort of low-salt version.

How about spices instead? Cumin, hot pepper, onion/garlic powder, etc.
