I was experimenting a little again, and ended up with this very good pancake topping. Maybe I was carbohydrate-deprived ;o), but it tasted soooo good to me.
I wasn't sure how the savory/sweet combination would work out, but it was very good.
2 bananas, sliced into thick "coins"
3 medium-sized pear, cubed
2 Tbsp brown sugar
1 Tbsp butter
1/4 cup dry red wine (well, as if it mattered - there was so much sugar in this when I got done with it anyway!)
dash salt
1/4 tsp freshly ground black pepper
1/4 tsp cinnamon
sour cream
Cook bananas, pears, brown sugar, and butter in a small frying pan, stirring occasionally.
When mixture begins bubbling, carefully add the wine, salt, and spices. Cover and simmer until desired consistency is obtained (about 10 minutes).
Use as a topping for anything that sounds good. I spread it on some corn pancakes, then added a little sour cream on top.
