Yesterday I received a recipe for Cottage cake, which was nothing much more than lemon curd mixed with a little water, maybe more sugar, and poured over broken pieces of angel food cake or pound cake.
I wrote to the person who gave the recipe and said it sounded like a good trifle recipe, just to break up pieces of angel food cake and pour lemon curd all through and around it and top it with whipped cream.
She wrote back and said she thought it sounded like a great Easter dessert.
The trifle idea came to me only because at a friend's house recently she did the same thing with strawberries and whole berries, it was delicious.
