Easy Beef & Shrimp Recipes for College Student Cook

My nephew now has a kitchen in his dorm and is starting to cook for himself. He asked me for easy recipes with only a few ingredients. Any suggestions? Also I once saw a link to a website with good definitions of cooking terms for beginner cooks. Of course I didn't bookmark and can not find it. Any idea of a place to tell him about? TIA
