elaine or anyone who has used Mahlab or Mahleb (sour cherry)? Recipe called for 2.5 Tsp of seeds

I have never used them - I will look in my local health food store today and early next week I will

Michael, I bought the ground, but need the conversion from tsp whole to tsp ground.

Normally I wouldn't be that concerned, but one of its characteristics is bitterness, so I don't want to over-add the powdered stuff and change the blend.

The recipe calls for 2.5 tsp kernels.

But since I have a whole bottle now and it's used in breads, I like to know for later how much to use in case the recipe again gives kernels (seeds) rather than ground.

 
For what it is worth...when this kind of thing has come up for me I

have measured out the amount needed of the whole, ground it and then measured out what I need and it has always been the same. Like I said, for what it's worth....
