The annual big tin chest filled with Nürnberg Lebkuchen (Schmidt brand-about the best import there is for Lebkuchen--the cheapo stuff at TJs and Aldi's pales in comparison) is marked down from $100 to $20. The beautiful tin chest with the skyline of Nürnberg Castle is worth more than $20 by itself. I have several of these from years past and I use them every year to fill up with my homemade cookies to set out on the buffet. You can freeze the individual packages inside the chest for later if you can't use them now. They all freeze beautifully--I've tested it.

Dresden Stollen reduced froim $20 to $1

A free mini stollen with each order.

Lots of other goodies: German and Italian chocolates and confections, Walker products from Scotland (shortbreads, tea tarts), etc. etc. really great prices.

Shipping to my address was $8.95. I tested it with 2 to 12 things in the cart and it never changed.

You probably would be quite fine...

they are full of protein, fiber, vitamins, and fat with all of the nuts, oranges, apples, apricots, butter, eggs, honey, and other goodness: the original energy bar before they were popular.

I always think that Tolkien had Lebkuchen in mind when he describes the Elven Waybread Lembas.

Thank you, Richard. I ordered far too much.

But I have some space in my freezer, and I won't need to buy cookies for months. I bought two of the Gauguin suitcases for my artist DDs for Easter, I'll just stick them in the freezer until then. Older DD knows (that is, she egged me into it), and is thinking of adding a long chain so she can use the 'suitcase' as a purse.

at those prices, how could you not?

I ordered another of the large Nürnberg Christmas chests. The large tin is so beautiful and is so practical to reuse at Christmas for my thousands of Christmas cookies. And they actually hold a couple recipes worth of cookies unlike many of the smaller tins I use. Plus, when I set them out on the buffet for Christmas Eve dessert, they are so beautiful and refined. Just love them.
