Temp today is supposed to be in the 80's. Too WARM.

I have been needing to water my winter garden every couple of days, due to the heat and dryness, or I get mondo aphids on my broccoli and such.

 
we need moisture here too

I hate watering in the winter. The hose is stiff until noon then has to be drained after use. Fortunately there is less to water.

 
Well, it snowed all day and into the night but it was a very fine, powdery snow

and only accumulated to 4" for us. It is brutally cold today tho.

Above chili was fabulous!!! We were very surprised at how good it is. For the first time I used sirloin tip steak and it was so tender and delicious in the chili. I subed a couple of minor things based on what was in the kitchen. Will make this chili again and again.

 
The chili sounds good, Barb. Did you add the hard cider,

or use something else. It's not always easy to find hard cider is why I'm asking.

You used the butter beans in the lentil recipe? Dried? Canned? Frozen?

It would never occur to me to try that but now I'm intrigued.
