Made a deal with myself to only eat beignets in New Orleans

at Cafe du Monde. Fortunately airfare is pretty reasonable from Detroit when only a beignet will answer the craving. Colleen

 
I was a bit stunned to realize the beignets in Cafe du Monde tasted a LOT

like powdered sopapillas in Santa Fe.

Then I realized: fried dough + sugar = my happy place.
