at (of all places) Home Depot. No kidding. I did catch the threads on being sure I'm not getting shoots off the rootstock-could explain what's up with my lemon as well! I have a dwarf regular lime, but the kaffir was bought strictly for the leaves and cooking. I plan to baby it like crazy!

KarenNoCA...If you're in Redding, I'll bet yours got frozen at some point. They're touchy about the cold, and you folks get lots colder (and a bit hotter too I might add!) than we do.

Yes, limes are more sensitive to cold. . . BUT . . .

If your leaf shapes change, it isn't the cold that did it! smileys/wink.gif

Yep, my kaffir leaves changed shape and those darn thorns....

I have a huge lemon tree in my backyard, as well. It does well, it is on the north side, protected by house and fences, but we keep it fed and watered. It gets lots of sun.
Good luck with your Kaffir.
