I got really sick my last couple days in NYC, made it home, went to the dr. and found out I had acute bronchitis, strep throat, inner ear infection, and sinusitis. I crawled under a rock and am just now crawling back out.

So here are the pix. As you can see from the half-eaten plates and blurry pix, we were more intent on EATING noodles than photgraphing them.

It's all a blur at this point, maybe Sandra or Erin can identify what's here. LOL

I just remember that it was one of the best meals I've had in my entire life. Would love to go back.

So..no correlation between this meal and resulting illness? Thanks for the photos from those of us

living vicariously through you guys. I take one from Photo #2 and three of Photo #14 (I'm hoping that's the number for the lemon-curd looking thingee.)

WOW! Do those noodles look good! I imagine the taste of dumplings ,ust have been unbelievable!

So glad you had fun! I have never been there. Looks like a cultural experience! Thanks for sharing the pictures! You all look like you are having such fun!

Sorry that you have been under the weather.

Best,
Barb

Must have been a lot of ecstatic slurpping going on! Guessing who's who in the pictures...

I'm jealous!! Anyone in the Boston area want to meet for Dim Sum. Can't find any here on Cape Cod--

don't understand the Chinese restaurants here--They've let Japanese Sushi rout them without a fight!! I remember Longevity Noodles on my birthday in Beijing in 1988!! and Dim Sum on Nathan Road in Hongkong. I want steamed buns and turnip cake and chicken feet and.......

Can't get chicken feet on Cape Cod??? You can get them at Marco Polo in Austin!

Loved the review, and the photos. My son lives in Manhattan -- next time I'm up.....

pics are great, but who's who?! What's that very first noodle dish?? Would LOVE to have a recipe!

Chicken Feet: Been there twice.

I cannot do chicken feet! And I consider myself one of the most adventurous people on the planet in the food I eat.

When people asked me my "food no-nos", I now answer chicken feet. And I HATE being asked this question. Eat what is put in front of you, and don't make a fuss is my motto. I hate it when people "pre-order" when I'm cooking!!!!

And I must say that's rather glib since I know that no one is going to be serving chicken feet in my dinner party crowd. I know that no one I know is going to be serving chicken feet at the dinner parties I go to; they laugh. They say I'm so easy. As a farm boy, cannot do the chicken feet thing.

What is it about the chicken feet??? Been there several times and didn't eat it.

And we won't even go to my friend who visited a classmate in Tokyo, who at a restarant declined "french-fried chicken butt-hole"

!

would love to have the recipes too!!!

I have been searching on line, and this far distant cuisine doesn't even have a cookbook out now (that I could find). AMAZING food. If anyone know of any northwest Chinese provinces cookbooks, would love to hear about it!!!!!

Sorry you were so ill, Richard! Feel better soon. I love how everything is a blur in the photos...

That was fast food in its best form. smileys/smile.gif
