Finders, Seekers! I'm looking for a recipe that used canned apricots in heavy syrup.

I "think" it was either from a Nigel Slater book or a Dan Lepard book, both of which I got from the library.

It took me FOREVER to find apricots in heavy syrup and now that I've finally found it (Walmart), I can't find my recipe.

I "think" it was for a crumble...but who knows? I had to look at the calendar earlier to see what day it was.

No, sadly it's neither Pat's nor Sally's recipes. It was definitely canned and the apricot was

the star, not just a topping. And he (I'm sure it was a he) said to try and use heavy syrup, which is what started me on this stupid one year quest.

I keep thinking it was Nigel Slater for some reason. He has beautiful books that are just seductive.

Marilyn, I cannot link the page so go to the link and in the search box enter Apricot Pistachio

Crumble and wait for the pages to load and then scroll to look at the recipe.

Ha! Google Gay wins the prize! (which is merely my happy smile!) It's

on Page 85 of RIPE, by Nigel Slater.

(...and a sigh of contentment wafts over her as she realizes there areTurkish pistachios in the freezer. ah.)

GayR, you continually astound me w/ yr ability 2 search & find things on the Internet. I had no idea

that a person COULD even do a search inside a book on Amazon. How incredible. Thank you!

I'm ELATED 2 know there is someone out there like me who also purchases food & then cannot recall

what recipe it was for. I currently have 2 jars of grapefruit marmalade sitting on a pantry shelf, but can I remember what recipe it was that piqued my interest enough to spend a good year looking for grapefruit marmalade in every grocery I entered? NOPE. It has probably been 5 years since I viewed and printed (or maybe copied from a cookbook) such a recipe, but I have lost total track of the printed version because it took me so long to actually find the grapefruit marmalade. Sigh. I also know for a fact that as soon as I give up and begin using this marmalade on my morning toast, I will find that recipe! Smile.
