First the restaurant food in France is going industrial and now bakeries in Germany >

this brings up such a good memory. when visiting my Oma in Germany 1964, every morning we were sent

to the little neighborhood store for fresh brötchen, and then we could buy some Real gummy bears with the change. I wonder if that little store still exists. maybe. it is a small town near Bremen called Uphusen. homes were built there after WWII for the displaced refugees from parts of Germany that were now Poland, and my Dad's family was one of those displaced families.

I posted this on Facebook for my cousin Silke in Germany, and she wrote back that the store/butcher

shop are long gone and the buildings are now apartments. but, they still have a small grocery and a bakery that they can walk to, and they do.
