lately, and of course I need time to post snarky things on Facebook. But I want to say hello and share this mushroom stew I tried last night as a first course. We served it over fried polenta cakes. Friend Karen just went back to Japan with her Japanese husband. She posted a pic of LA traffic jam driving home. This was my comment: "God, I will never forget that drive to Long Beach as long as I live. Talk about a soul-sucking empty black hole of hopelessness: LA Traffic Jam."

And then we arrived and it was all over with your wonderful welcome. That dinner was sublime. And you Joe are the consummate Mensch.
