For Anthony Bourdain fans(or not), a rant about Foodnetwork. Classic AB style.

Oh My GAWD!!!!

Did Anthony channel me in my sleep last night? He totally nailed every thought I had about the whole freakin' freak show with the exception that he thinks Emeril is a nice guy (he isn't, had a friend who worked for him).

And my favorite bits (a tie):

"But I’d like to see her mad. Like her look-alike, Divine in the classic, “Female Trouble. Paula Deen on a Baltimore Killing Spree would be something to see. Let her get Rachael in a headlock--and it’s all over."

Love John Waters!!!!!

and

"What’s the difference between that and Sandra suggesting we fill our mouths with Ritz Crackers, jam a can of Cheez Wiz in after and press hard?"

I've been a regular lurker at Ruhlman's blog for a while....

it's great stuff - not just the AB guest blogs but this one was priceless. I was reading it to my DH & DD and they were rolling on the floor laughing. AB just pegs my thoughts so well that I sort of worship him - of course, sometimes I wish I could be as bold and blunt as he is but man is he good even if he comes across as a jerk some. I just totally love AB complete disregard for things. Nothing is too holy for him to attack, at least I haven't seen it yet.

Or comparing poor Molto Mario to an aging toothless lion---priceless.

And I caught the end of the Bobby Flay throwdown Chili episode last night, and please, is there any doubt that he, the king of chilis, could make a winning pot of chili?

I usually find Bourdain too harsh for my viewing pleasure, but this blog posting was just too funny. and the comments---oh my.

I'm not embarrassed to admit to gleaning things form Rachael and even Ms Lee and that they do serve a purpose for beginning cooks and busy folk, but enough already. and do we need more travel shows?

I think it is over the top mean and nasty. I don't really see the need for that. Just don't watch.

On the subject of AB, did you see him on Top Chef???

I LOVED his description of Mikey - Charles Manson & Betty Crocker's love child - what a hoot!

If you like AB, you might want to catch his show on Monday nights. ..more

His show, No Reservations, is on the travel channel at 10 pm, Mondays. He travels all over the world, eating strange things. If you don't like him, you would have enjoyed seeing him eat wild boar anus cooked in ashes by bushmen in Namibia.

Vlakvark, bosvark or warthog..........

eaten many a bush meal where that is on the menu but the rear part of it's anatomy, urgh.....that's generally fed to the dog!
