for Steve2 and other "preservers", a nice blog SavingtheSeason. link is to recipes

Hi Ang, I've put up a bunch of jars this summer. Alot have to do with plums,

I have a good supply of all sorts of plums at our market. I made a yellow plum jam with orange and cardamom, yum, damson plum jam, mixed plum jam, and Santa Rosa plum jam. We also picked blackberries and raspberries both of which were turned into jam. I have almost enough figs from my tree to do a batch of fig jam--just wish I knew what kind of figs they are. I am keeping my eye out for a loaded crab apple tree as I love spiced crab apple jelly. And, soon there will be some sort of pear something as pears are starting to come in now.

I can't begin to compete with Steve but I do have a few jars on my jam shelf!

Thanks for the great link. I will enjoy surfing around all those canning links!

Thanks Angie. I've been following him since before he became "Mr-Big-Time-Got-A-Book-Deal" guy

I've stolen . . . uh, BORROWED several of his recipes including Stawberry-Rhubarb, Apple Jelly and Barrett's Blueberry. He has some great ideas and an interesting approach. I also like working without pectin whenever possible.

Surfas, the store he references when he does his canning demo's, is one of my favorite kitchen-supply stores although I've yet to attend any of his events. Maybe one day.

these are really so easy and so very good. I would recommend them for newbies just starting to can.

I add a tablespoon of sugar to the brine to mellow the flavor just a tiny bit.
