For the first time, I actually watched Julia Child last night. It was a very old, circa 1975, judgin

Marg CDN

Well-known member
from the tools, but still extremely helpful video on PBS. She was quite hilarious at times, developing a close personal relationship with the chicken she was trussing. Even H got to laughing at her flicking her garbage onto the floor when she had nowhere else to put it.

I've seen her before very briefly, with Jacques Pepin and Nancy Silverman, but this was one of her first, I would guess, given her casual unpreparedness.

I guess I was just always working when she was on TV and I never got to enjoy her programs. She really was a gem!

Marg, some of the shows were very rough around the edges. I remember one featuring apples

and the tart did not turn out properly. Julia just slopped the apples back onto the pastry and never apologized for the mess. She did say that someone must have mixed up the apples and the wrong kind were used.

our PBS has been playing some of the oldies too. you might be able to get the DVD set from your

library. it's such fun to watch the episodes.
