Beautiful kitchen, Sally! How do you like the black granite?
We find that we can't see the dirt. Sometimes a good thing but here in Florida, with all the rain, when we find the dirt it's because of the infestation of ants.
I love the Simply Human drying rack with the knife block and stemware racks. This will be my Christmas present to the house!

Black granite was already in the house...
... we kept it along the perimeter of the kitchen because it would be very expensive to replace it all. I like the clear granite better (the one in the center island) - because it brightens the place. Both hide the dirt very well, the only way to clean it is to look at the surface with the eyes leveled with the surface, then you see the specks of dirt. We've had granite in Oklahoma for 15 years and the stone looked still brand new when we left. We love granite!

I love everything about it, especially the stove and the door. Enjoy it!
In case you want to know how I love it...I don't. I can't see the dirt either and have learned to
wait until morning to clean it to save the embarrassment of everything I missed the night before. It really is the prettiest choice, but unless there were lots of natural light all night long, I would opt for maybe a charcoal or gray.
Do you like yours? I'm sort of recalling your kitchen and thought it was lighter.

Marg, our old house had the tan granite this new one has black. I like it but I can't see the dirt
especially ground coffee!
We went with the le Creuset Caribbean Blue. Surprisingly the Flame and Caribbean Blue don't look too bad together with the black granite...at least that is what we are convincing ourselves.LOL

nice to have such great feedback! We are in awe still and learning the tricks of all the new appliances - the Bosch dishwasher turns just with a little touch of the finger, I kept pressing on the controls like crazy, and getting frustrated that it would not work.... OPERATOR ERROR!
