With organic foods becoming more popular every year, huge corporations want to get in on the growing trend (and profits) by buying out successful organic companies.

Who really owns those organic foods we buy so faithfully? You'd be surprised. Here are a few of the biggest takeovers:

Kellogg's has acquired Kashi Cereal and Morningstar Farms.

General Mills purchased Cascadian Farm (frozen fruit, vegetables, granola bars, fruit spreads) and Muir Glen (tomato sauce, ketchup and salsa).

Kraft Foods bought Back to Nature cereals in 2004. Kraft also owns Boca Burger Inc.

Coca-Cola purchased Odwalla Inc., which produces natural and organic fruit juices.

Dean Foods Co., the largest U.S. dairy company, bought out Horizon Organic, Silk soy milk and White Wave tofu.

Unilever bought out Ben & Jerry's for $326 million.

Colgate-Palmolive is purchasing Tom's of Maine oral and personal care products.
