M melissa-dallas Well-known member Sep 18, 2012 #4 My cabinets don have handles but it would be worth adding a couple to do this
M meryl Well-known member Sep 18, 2012 #5 Of course, a book like this might break the handles - it's over 5 lbs: http://www.amazon.com/Gourmet-Cookbook-More-than-recipes/dp/061880692X/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1348010292&sr=1-1&keywords=gourmet+cookbook

S steve2-in-la Well-known member Sep 18, 2012 #7 Melissa, I'll bet you could still do it. Just turn the hook on the hanger so it'll hang over the edge of your slightly ajar cabinet. Don't really need the cabinet handle, just the lip of the cabinet itself would work.

S steve2-in-la Well-known member Sep 18, 2012 #8 She DOES say, heavy books won't work but I'll bet quite a few will. I have an under cabinet cookbook holder which works really well but if ever I was in need, it's slacks on the ground, book in the air! http://www.amazon.com/Under-Cabinet-Cookbook-Holder-All-Acrylic/dp/B001EZZ48I

M marilynfl Moderator Sep 19, 2012 #10 Great idea. And if Pip the chipmunk from Enchanted shows up you can hang him too. (hey, I didn't think of this sadistic idea. Blame it on Disney. I saw it in THEIR movie.)

E elaine Well-known member Sep 19, 2012 #11 For print outs go to Container Store - they have these small stick on your counter hooks that hold.. papers. Keeps them way up out of the way. The stick ons come off easily but mine are always full of recipes I want to try. The hanger is great for small cookbook.

M marilynfl Moderator Sep 19, 2012 #12 I have that book! It would probably snap the cabinet off along with the hanger.
M monj Well-known member Sep 19, 2012 #13 This works great for printouts too. I don't have any cabinets over my work island Holds about 8 diff sheets. Perfect for all the recipes I print out from here!! I'm going to pass that hanger tip along to friends. It's a great idea! http://www.crateandbarrel.com/recipe-rock/s130519

M mariadnoca Moderator Sep 19, 2012 #18 and I read over at the kitchen table and forget what it says when I get back to the counter
E erininny Well-known member Sep 20, 2012 #20 I do this, too. Kitchen table and counter = approx. 3 feet from each other. Argh.
