For those that love to bake: I checked out momofuku milk bar cookbook from our library

and learned SOOOOO much from the first few sections (ingredients, etc.). Although I won't attempt a lot of the recipes because they are too fussy/don't interest me there are several that do: corn cookies, the original crack pie, fudge sauce and a few more. I have a an order being delivered today from Amazon with glucose, valhrona cocoa and corn power - can't wait to use them. And picked up milk powder at the store today. If of interest - see if your library has the book:)

This will probably be my holiday gift to friends

I'll put the fudge sauce in mason jars (or something similar)

Deb, I made the crack pie (using library book) and found it too sweet for my taste. Which, on a

scale ranging from "mouth-pukering" sour all the way up to the "molecular structure of glucose" sweet, I found this to be too far to the right.

That said, I'm still gonna try the corn cookies.

ALSO: I watched the baker make the crack pie on TV and it didn't match the library book version. Not sure which is more authentic.

I can understand that - I doubt I'm going to make the pie.

Yes - if the recipes of hers posted elsewhere (food network, etc) can be a bit different for the 'home' cook.

My husband so didn't want to like the corn cookies. But he absolutely loved them!
