FRC: A friend of mine has decided that one of her cooking goals this year would be to make every

cover recipe from Bon Apetit. This weekend she would make the lemon curd pie. On Friday night she made the crust and the lemon curd.On Saturday morning she got the vanilla ice cream out to spread on the crust. She spread the ice cream on and stuck the pie back in the freezer. Running late she asked her husband to get the pie out and spread the lemon curd on top of the ice cream while she got dressed. He yelled up to her that the curd didn't smell too lemony and the yellow wasn't bright enough but he did it anyway.

She came downstairs to find the vanilla ice cream topped with the chicken gravy left over from last night's dinner!

In my Food Srevice class in college we had the task of making orange marmalade.

One of the fellas had never had orange marmalade and just didn't understand the recipe, so he did his own thing and strained out all the soft sweet cooked rind and made a clear jelly.
