We will be attending the Viking "Steak, Roast and Chop Workshop" at Harrah's in Atlantic City this weekend and I'm really excited! Anyone have any suggestions on what to expect from the class and how to get the most out of the experience?

Also, any Atlantic City tips? We've never been there before. Still trying to figure out the best way to get from the airport to the hotel - taxi? Thank-you! Colleen

Which airport? unless it's the AC airport, it would be a really pricey cab ride. smileys/frown.gif

The Michael Mina restaurant in the Borgata is good.
Have fun! smileys/smile.gif

Yes, Atlantic City Airport

Instead of renting a limo or Tropiano Transport, a taxi looks like the best trip from the airport to the boardwalk!

Thanks for the Michael Mina recommendation! Colleen

I

a class at the Bryn Mawr, PA location but never did. Instead, I invested in some of their cookware and other things I bought there. I got high walking in that store!

I do know that some of the classes are very popular and fill up very quickly. Sometimes I could see the cooks through the big windows having a grand time when I shopped.

I see that Harrah’s Viking Cooking School is a retailer of their cookware. There is a 30% off sale on Viking cookware online and it probably will apply to Harrah’s Viking store/school as well. That is a HUGE sale. Also inquire about any additional discounts you might be eligible for by attending the workshop.

I bought two Viking saucepans and a stockpot and am so happy with them. I urge you to invest in at least one good piece of cookware that you need instead of giving it away to the AC casinos - Lol

Have fun and please report back on your trip and class.

Bobby Flay at Borgata is very good also...

if you want to go a bit further south, White Heron Grill in Avalon is excellent also

I always remove the horns. Very tough, even with a long braise.

And they have a "gamey" flavor, even if you squeeze a little dilemma juice over them.

Avoid.

Michael
