not very many that I wish to try.

Also, found it very disturbing to learn of the passing of Abby Mandel, who worked for Bon Appetit as long as I can remember and a tribute to her was so sad and unworthy allocated to a column on the page like a side note titled A Remembrance and written by Barbara Fairchild. How awful. I checked the net and she passed in August. She wrote wonderful columns and recipes.

Personally, I am really disliking Bon Appetit!

Me too, I haven't gotten much out of the last 2 or 3 issues, haven't looked at November yet. Abby

Mandel was one of the pioneers of Cuisinart use, if I remember correctly. Really big in the '80s.

Me three -- sometimes you can't even tell the difference between the recipes and the ads. Nothing

new, and nothing very interesting.

Enjoy CI, but at $1 an issue BA has enough good recipes, product info etc.to make it worthwhine to me

I may be in the minority but really enjoyed the issue and getting the

subscription for $12 a year/$1 per issue is such a good deal. I agree there are more and more ads but I always feel I get my $1 a month out of the magazine and then some. What I do though when I receive the magazine is discard the loose subscription-invitation cards and tear out alot of the full page ads that don't speak to me and that let's me get to the meaty portion of the magazine easier...the recipes. A Swanson broth ad I left in this issue listed a roasted chicken with caramelized onion soup recipe that sounds appealing for a quick and flavorful soup on a busy night, especially if I add some fresh herbs to it. Another ad contained a Cat Cora recipe for Pan-Seared Poppy Seed-Crusted Bay Scallop Salad with Romesco that sounded inspiring. Not necessarily that I'd use that particular recipe but I liked the idea of pan-searing scallops and serving with my romesco sauce.

In addition to a few interesting articles there are actually at least 15 recipes that speak to me and I can vouch for the Cheesy Baked Penne with Cauliflower and Creme Fraiche as a definite keeper. So all in all I'd say I got my money's worth out of the issue. Heck, I spend 3 times that amount on a designer coffee that gives me pleasure for only about 10 minutes.)
