If you ate them all yourself, that's my revenge for "The Lonely Goatherd" bouncing around in my head

Glad you tried it!

Lay ee odl lay ee odl lay hee hoo

Oh no...I haven't heard that song in years...decades...and now it's bouncing around in MY head. Thanks Joe. :eek:P

I'm sure the last time I heard it was when I took the Sound of Music tour in Salzburg in 1991!

I made them too and everyone loved them. Thanks Joe!

Your's look nicer than mine though, but no one cared.

Dawn and Michael, I'm so glad you gave them a try. I once catered a reception for 70 and I only made

100 of these. Can you imagine the ugly scene? People were actually fighting over them. I had all kinds of phroofier stuff on the buffet, quiche, finger sandwiches, etc. but they only wanted more piggies.

I didn't have puff pastry handy, so I made these with the crescent rolls and lil' smokies.

still really good and gobbled up. I unrolled the crescent roll dough, but left it in rectangles, pinching the seam together and then I cut the rectangles into about 8 wedges each for mini crescents around the mini sausages.

Michael, I'm still plotting revenge: "Right by my stove lives a lonely salt pig...

lay-ee-odle-ley-ee-olde-ley-hee-oo
Judy from Mass. sent it in a box-big
Lay-ee-odle-lay-ee-odle-oo

Freud says, "my son, this is your Gestalt-sig"

"Salt is all there is to Le Cuisine Haute-big"

Yo HO! I'm gonna get you
Yo HO! You're gonna pay
Yo HO! When they put you in
The institution you're gonna say:

Joe's in a snit cuz his real-life goat gig
Lay-ee-odle-lay-ee-odle-lay-ee-oo
Got com-pared to Julie's Mari-'on-ettes, dig?
Lay-ee-odle-lay-ee-odle-oo

Now that song sticks in his brain like a dried fig
Lay-ee-odle-lay-ee-odle-lay-ee-oo
Making him dance the most dis-tort-ed jig
Lay-ee-odle-lay-ee-odle-oo

Yo HO! He's gonna get you
Yo HO! You're gonna pay
Yo HO! When they put you in
The institution you're gonna say:

On our one trip to Salzburg over New Years' it was too cold for a tour, but we saw the puppets,

the same ones featured in the movie, in a full-length opera, "Die Fleitermauss" on New Year's Eve. They were amazing.

I was skeptical, but the crowd was all dressed in fur and diamonds, and the theatre was a small restored Baroque showplace. For a puppet show! That's how revered that company was.

I obviously had too much wine last night--trying to kill that tune in my brain....

It didn't work. lay-ee-odle-ley-ee-olde-ley-hee-oo
